The station has a somewhat irregular service frequency during the week, with gaps of anything from ten minutes to several hours depending on the time of day. All westbound trains call at Selby and then continue to either York or London Kings Cross. There is also a limited service to Leeds & Manchester Piccadilly (a.m peak only). Eastbound there are sixteen daily departures to Hull provided by the various operators that call there. On Sundays, five services are provided by First Hull Trains and eight services are provided by Northern Rail in each direction at various points throughout the day.
